At the time, I had been taking whey protein from Serious Mass and I figured that Russian bear would have the same taste—they're both chocolate flavored, after all. It was something else completely. It tasted so sweet that I thought I would get diabetes after of that one taste. The sweetness comes from the large amount of sugar they put in it, and that's the only major con I noticed. People who are watching their sugar intake or who have diabetes should probably check with their doctor before consuming this regularly.
The recommended serving is six scoops a day, but honestly just three or four scoops a day is enough for regular guys. While taking Russian Bear, I never noticed any stomach discomfort or laziness—I was almost always excited to go to the gym and work out as hard as I can. I started to notice gains after one week.
I sometimes have one scoop of Russian Bear in the mornings with milk. After training, I consume two scoops with of the powder mixed with cold water, and just before bedtime, I would have one more scoop mixed with yogurt and 5 to 7 almonds to help me recover. That's what my gym trainer advised.

My schedule went like this:

- Consuming one scoop of protein with full-fat milk or yogurt and a few almonds at night will help it absorb slowly, providing you nutrients throughout the night
- Always mix your protein powder with cold beverages, such as cold water, cold milk, or cold juice.
- Each flavor has different nutrition facts. For example, the chocolate flavor tends to have more fat, potassium, and carbohydrates.
