It's Important to Be Consistent and Stay Motivated
Having a fitness routine is important. Consistency ensures success. When you show up everyday and complete your workout, you are that much closer to seeing results and reaching your goals. Following a prescribed program is great. Every workout is planned and all you have to do is show up and do the work. Easy, right? In theory, yes, but doing the same workouts over and over can get boring. You might find yourself dreading the workout. Once you hit that point, it's easier to find an excuse and run with it.
While doing a little housework recently, I was watching a YouTube video from one of my favorites. This video was all about prepping yourself on Sunday to have an amazing week. One of the tips was to stop being too lazy. She explained that she doesn't like to workout on Sundays because "it's called Sunday fun day for a reason and working out is not fun."
This statement made me pause. I personally love working out, but I realize that not everyone feels that way. However, working out can be fun. It all depends on the activity you are choosing to do. If you consistently gravitate toward the treadmill for cardio and do the same circuit of strength training exercises every time you hit the gym, then no, maybe working out isn't so much fun after all. In fact, that sounds dismal. If that was my routine, I wouldn't go to the gym most of the time.
Switching Up Your Routine Can Give Your Workouts New Life
This inspired me to come up with a list of enjoyable exercises or workout videos to share. Fitness is a passion of mine, and I think everyone should find some movement in their life. The key is finding something that you actually love doing so that you want to spend time doing it. Otherwise, what's the point?
Now, that's not to say that you shouldn't challenge yourself. The treadmill has a real place in a fitness routine. Burpees have great benefits, although I'm not a big fan of them. Adding variety and switching up your routine is beneficial for your mind, your spirit, and your body.
It is possible to have fun and get in a good workout. Sorry, but there's no excuse to skip movement on Sunday with my list of fun workouts. The best part is that you don't even have to leave your house to do these. There's something for everyone on this list, and you can always modify them to your fitness level.
Let's dive in.

The Fitness Marshall | Dance Workout
1. The Fitness Marshall
If you love to dance and be silly, The Fitness Marshall is for you. Caleb has so much energy and creates fun dances to popular music. He talks you through it and keeps it simple and sassy. Don't be fooled though, his dances are a great way to get some cardio in, especially if you aren't a big fan of doing cardio. His YouTube channel is full of amazing dances. One video will have you hooked. You could spend an afternoon dancing around your living room with Caleb.
Tone It Up: BIKINI SERIES ☀ Total Body Mermaid Workout
2. Tone It Up
I add these girls into most of my lists for a reason. The majority of their workouts are filmed on the beach, which is incredible. Karena and Katrina are so sweet and working out with them is like being with your best girlfriends. Their entire brand is centered around an amazing community of women who support and uplift one another.
They have a variety of workouts available on YouTube, and in the past year, have expanded their fitness brand to include an app, Studio Tone It Up. You can purchase the subscription to take different fitness classes and coordinate it to workout in real-time with your friends around the world. It's pretty cool.
You don't need to pay for a subscription to get in an effective, fun workout, though. Hop on their YouTube channel or website and choose from hundreds of workouts for free. My recommendation is the Tone It Up Mermaid Workout. It's a total body toning workout that takes less than 20 minutes. No excuses!
3. Aerobic Striptease
Growing up in the 90's, Carmen Electra was always on TV or in movies. She is gorgeous and we all wanted to look like her. In the early 2000's, she came out with a five-part fitness series, Aerobic Striptease. It's the perfect program to get you in shape, build confidence, and just feel good about yourself.
The first DVD is a great introduction into dance. She takes you through a simple warm up and gives you two fun routines. The second DVD is a total body toning workout. The third DVD is an advanced dance routine, while the fourth DVD is a routine that includes a chair.
The fifth DVD is one of my favorites, a hip-hop dance cardio routine. It's 20 minutes of dancing fun and will get your heart pumping! Any of these would be a fun way to mix up your fitness routine.
4. Fit In Your Jeans By Friday
Say what you will about the Kardashians, but they've built an empire. One of my favorite workouts is a three-part DVD series from Kim Kardashian called Fit In Your Jeans By Friday. There's a cardio step DVD that will have you sweating and smiling.
The two toning DVDs are with Jennifer Galardi, one of my favorite trainers. There's a lower body workout that will tighten and tone your legs. There's also an upper body workout that will have your arms burning and get your abs into shape! These are serious workouts that will burn fat and tone you up, all while having a lot of fun!
5. Tonique Fitness
I love Tonique! Sylwia is all about finding balance in the body and enjoying each moment of life. Her workouts challenge your muscles and are a lot of fun! You can purchase any of her programs on her website, and they are all affordable, ranging in price from $5 to $40.
You can also get a taste of her workouts on her YouTube channel. I love her beach routine. Sylwia's zest for life is contagious and she will have you smiling and enjoying every movement.
Body By Simone - 35 Minute Dance Cardio Workout
6. Body By Simone
I recently found Body By Simone while searching for a little variety myself. Simone has a dancing background and incorporates her knowledge and experience into her program. Her workouts combine short bursts of dance cardio with unique toning moves that will have you sweating and feeling incredible!
I'm currently reading her book and learning more about her method. The video below is the one that had me smiling, dancing, sweating, and left my muscles burning. This is definitely a Sunday fun day workout.
Brazilian BOOTY Workout: Butt lift workout
7. Tracy Campoli
Last, but not least, is one of my absolute favorites: Tracy Campoli. I love working out with Tracy for many reasons. Her workouts are short, effective, and fun! She talks you through the workout, giving you tips on form and letting you know where you should be feeling it in your body. Working out with Tracy is always a good time.
You can check out her YouTube channel for a variety of free workouts, perfect for busy babes! Tracy also has a workout club, Total Body Transformation, where you get access to hundreds of full length workouts and a calendar that lets you know exactly which workouts to do to see results. It really takes your fitness to the next level.
But, if you're just looking to switch it up, I recommend hopping on her YouTube channel. I love Tracy's arm and standing ab workouts. For a fun workout to switch up your routine, try the video below.

Haha! You are very active with your Farmer's Market, taking care of the chickens, and of course, with your pup. That's several workouts combined into one! And it's hard to believe you're seventy! But in all seriousness, stretching, Feldenkrais movements, and yoga are always my go-tos. :)
